People with original capacity higher than 6900, did you people calibrate your battery?

I tried to calibrate my battery yesterday but when the laptop finally died the standby light turned off when I closed the screen so it didn't have a chance to fully drain the battery.

Is the calibration process different for the newer mbps?

Mine had a higher than 100% pre and post calibration. I think the stated battery capacity is 6900 +/- a little bit. I wouldn't worry if you're within 98-100%

I calibrated my battery on its first cycle. Ran it all the way down until it slept and left it unplugged over night. In the morning I charged it back up to 100% and since then have only been discharging it about 70% before recharging it fully again.

Every single time I calibrated it, I got less and less power :(:(

Maybe I'm doing something wrong? I'm kind of hoping so, but I seem to be following the guide provided here in every way :(

Don't stress at all if you're new i5 MBP is less than 100% health when you first get it or shortly after.

I had received my MBP late April and the battery health before calibration was 7100. Well, a couple days later my backpack was stolen from my car and I had to order another one. (i know =\)

So, when I got my new one, after I let it fully charge, I installed CoconutBattery and the Health was at 96% fully charged, and it was at 6520/6900 and I was uber pissed that I thought I got a "faulty" battery.

Well, after calibrating (and even before, when it was discharging) the health jumped up to 99% and then eventually 100% in the next 24 hours. Now I'm at 100% health with 7050 out of 6900.

Moral of the story? DO NOT worry about it. If you check it everyday or every other day, you'll just add unnecessary stress. Just know that it fluctuates and your battery is completely healthy. Hope this helps someone.

Very true. After my most recent calibration I was at 97%. One recharge cycle later and it's back to over 100%...
