French boutique retailer Colette has launched an online sale offering many stainless steel Apple Watch and 18-karat gold Apple Watch Edition models for around 50% off, by far the lowest prices available for those Apple Watch models this Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Due to the significant savings, stock will likely be depleted very quickly.

The awkward moment when you realize there is worst then elevator music : looking at Apple Watch catalogue on Colette website music.
French websites always have a way to invade with popups and other stuff.

This is going to be interesting for the next 3 months. Most of these items on sale during the black fridays the prices are on downward trend. This is the very reason I don't go crazy trying to get myself get killed on such event. Because I can wait in a month or two then I can grab them for almost the same sale price.

The number one issue with Apple Watch is price. Imo.

And inflated expectations it's the game changer iPhone and iPad became.

I think it will be eventually too. Just not now.

-just bought a sport 38mm white band from target for effectively 200 after gift card included and coupons.

I'm a fan

Looks like almost all are sold out, but Colette's website seems to be very glitchy. I was briefly able to add 3 different models previously listed as sold out to my shopping bag and proceed to checkout.

A few minutes later I added almost every single one:

Does anyone know if there will be any Import taxes or Duties on these? I bought a couple to keep and resale and wasn't sure about duties, etc.

I'm commenting on the lack of demand for the product requiring such a sale

Hmm... cut 9000 dollars off the price and still make a profit? Interesting.

Apple probably sold them to the boutique at less than their cost

No, this store is eating the cost so they can have prizes that attract free publicity and get shoppers to their site or store.

These watches are no different than a jet ski on a French fry box during McDonalds Monopoly game.

And it only works if it's a product people want. Otherwise there's no free publicity.

You do know about loss leaders, marketing expenses, etc.
Even if they lose a bunch on the watch, if the sale gets them a lot of press, it's worth it.

There is no loss leader on this. It is just like a ring, walk out of the store, it is worth half of what you paid. "Jewellery" is always sold artificially high in price compared to material cost and assembly.

Lost leader or are they trying to move inventory that just isn't selling. Just go to an apple store and see how many people are looking at the apple watch.... And if it is no one.. then you will start believing that is a reason why Apple hasn't released sales numbers.

Apple watch is the best smart watch on the market, but the price is wrong. 50% off is more realistic for it's features.

Once the board of directors sees how bad Tim screwed up, he will be forced to make some changes. Too bad they won't get ride of him though!

How much does apple supply them to Colette for then? Less than half of the RRP? I doubt it...

Now at this price, I might've considered getting the Apple Watch Edition, but I only really like the blue leather one.
Guess I'll have to 'settle' with the SSSB I'm getting for Christmas. :(:D
