s/he/they/, since there was more than one guy and two evil women helping.

and there's really nothing stopping you from buying colloquy ;)

obligatory disclaimer: i'm helping with the mobile colloquy project. for those of you interested we'll definitely be posting updates on the site, in #colloquy-mobile on freenode, and @colloquyapp on Twitter (yes, Twitter).

I just bought it, what a great little IRC app! :D

The only one I've actually bought since the others just didn't do it for me. It acts just like it's bigger brother, the Mac OS X version, has a simple interface, emoticon/emoji support, and great features. Best $2 I ever spent on the AppStore! :)

Finally I can login, and stay connected to IRC on the go. Thanks guys!

Hey guys, I tried Googling and Wiki, but can someone tell me a little about IRC? Is it just another way of chatting with people via the internet? Is it sorta like a message board? How is it different that IM? (multiple people seeing everyone's conversation?)

People still use IRC? I guess its the nerd chat place? I mean lets face it.. Its not even that great for pirated software anymore.

It's a one-to-many form of communication that predates AIM and lots of others. Most common IM protocols pretty much suck at handling group chats, and IRC is like the king of that.

Even Apple still uses IRC internally. I use it a lot for communication, and there are plenty of projects and websites that do as well.

Actually, don't laugh so fast. :p One of the devs is looking into dcc support for vcards and photos, which are pretty much the only two things accessible to the app right now.
