Comcast to offer Rhapsody in Real Deal

    Seems like when it comes down to it, every competitior to iTMS is having to make an educated choice about which devices they support. Real is going to have to push manufacturers to adopt UPNP.

    Suddenly it is obvious that the success of the companies running a music store is dependent on the players they can get available to play the downloads. I guess Apple have cause to be quietly confident.

    If I was just a manufacturer of fairly normal digital players, and had no music store, could I go right now and license Fairplay from Apple? If so, I think I´d do that and instantly associate my product with the best player on the market. Then I might try guessing which of the new copycat music stores is going to get it right and think about adding support their format of downloads too.
