I don't know what to do. I've used this flash drive a lot and all of a sudden it doesn't show up in Finder, but removing it without ejecting it still brings up a prompt and it shows up in System Profiler.

    What about Disk Utility?

I assume you've gone into Disk Utility and formatted it in the Fat 32 file format so Mac can recognise it.

Also take a look at your Finder preferences, make sure it wasn't toggled at some point not to show connected hard drives.

Yeah, it shows up in DU as well.

It's odd, the checkbox for showing external disks in Finder's sidebar was blue, but instead of a check it had a dash. I'm guessing that meant it was set to only display certain drives, which is odd, because I never changed the setting and, like I said, I've used this drive on this computer. Anyway, I changed it back and now there's no problem. Perhaps I inadvertently changed the setting... or my computer is becoming self-aware and is messing with me.

    Hm.

    Well, thanks, guys!
