Confused about RAM

    Yes, it will work in that iBook. Look at the reviews though, it doesn't seem to be that reliable.

    So, in Ram for this iBook, what is the difference between these two specs:

    PC2100 266MHz vs. PC 2700 333MHz ???

    do they both work? does one use more battery life? get hotter?
    i don't get it at all

    Faster RAM will clock down to slower speeds.

    For Example:
    It is getting REALLY hard to find PC100 for older machines. Most suppliers offer PC133 since it'll clock down to PC100 speeds.

    PC2100 and PC2700 will work the same in most iBook G4's. The exception are the 1.33 12" and 1.42 14" which nominally take the PC2700 only. In fact, most Mac vendors will deliver PC2700s anyway.

    You're better off buying from a reputable vendor who guarantees compatibility with your model Mac, instead of taking a chance on generic RAM.
    MR readers most often recommend Crucial, OWC and Data Memory Systems.
