Quite cool; would be nice if the 360 let you stream MPEG-4 though :( Everything I rip from Handbrake is MPEG-4.

On Windows there are apps that transcode from various formats to wmv in real time, these apps are combined with the streaming capability of the 360 to give you the ability to stream all modern formats. Hopefully we see something like that for OS X sooner rather than later (or never).

I don't want to start another thread but I hope this doesn't sound stupid. I've been reading up on XBox 360s on the net and it seems that all the wireless features use Microsoft. Can you still use a Mac to utilize these capabilities?

That is what this thread is about. Connect360 is a program to allow you to share your iTunes music, iPhoto Pictures and now videos from your Mac to the XBox 360. It really is a great little programs and well worth the money.

Very cool. I've been waiting for video support. Sucks that it's WMV, but beggars can't be choosers, I suppose. Anyone know if this works with WMV HD stuff? I haven't had a chance to try it out.

This update had the potential to be great......but since it only supports WMV it really isn't worth much to me. Bring on the MPEG support please.

Flip4Mac WMV Studio can export to WMV.

I just tested a 720p WMV with it, it works fine. I don't know if that is what you mean by WMV HD though?

This update brings OS X exactly inline with Windows support, anything else on Windows requires 3rd party programs. I'd say this update is great!

Is there a free alternative to this program? Sorry I'm considering a 360 over a Wii just trying to find out as much info as I can before making a decision

Windows XP (any version) can now stream WMVs to the 360 using Windows Media Player 11.

GameSpot.com has WMV files all over the place. They also have WMVs at 720p (and above) but I think you need to be a subscriber to download them. Like I said I downloaded 1 before and it played without issue. This was over wired LAN though.

Has SD and HD WMV files and you don't need to be a member or anything to grab them.

    Widescreen?

Has anyone been able to get videos play in widescreen when streamed to the 360? The videos on my Mac are 16x9, but they play as 4x3 on the 360. And yes, I have all my settings correct on the Xbox...

Another dumb question, but... you need to have the wireless antenae thingy to do this, right? And does that have any problems connecting to Airport Extreme/Express?
