My son has just got a JVC GR-D340 digital video camera and wants to mess around with his films on iMovie. The instructions say to use a DV cable to connect camera to a PC-no mention of Mac and the connection looks like nothing on the back of my G4.
What do we need to do?

    "DV" is Firewire...

On the left is what is on your computer, on the right is what is on your camera. You need a cable that goes from the camera to the computer. They're quite common and you can get them anywhere (Radio Shack, Best Buy, etc...)

    Here is one...

yes. some cameras come with a dock and some have the ports built in. Also, when something says "PC" it just means personal computer. If a camera doesn't work with a mac then they really messed up.
