    Hi,

Tomorrow I pick up my Macbook, and want to work out how to integrate it into my system. For a while I may be using my old PC at the same time as a server (it has files on it that my wife also works on using her Toshiba laptop). So, I want to use my Sony monitor with my new Macbook and my PC. The same goes for my external keyboard and mouse. But, I don't want to keep pulling wires in and out all day long. Is there a switcher of some sort that both computers can plug into and share the monitor and the keyboard?

    Thanks

Yes -- they're called "KVM" (keyboard, video, mouse) switches. There are tons of them, ranging from very simple ones (there's a button on the device that does the switchover) to very sophisticated ones (can be activated from the keyboard, I think there're even some where you flick the mouse to one side and you initiate a switch).

You might try to start with forum searching here...I'm deferring because I've used them but never personally purchased one.
