The first thing I tried when I got my new iPad:
I put my Mifi 4G Verizon data sim into a punch and cropped it to micro-sim size. I popped that into my iPad. I instantly got a working 3G connection. I restarted the iPad, and got onto LTE without any settings changes. I ran a speed test to confirm LTE was working and it was.
Just thought I'd share. I contacted Verizon and asked them last week if I could do this and they told me no. I was happy to find out they were wrong.
