Call up Vasalini's Chickencam website during daylight hours, and you're treated to streaming video of chickens wandering in a penned yard on Martha's Vineyard around a 3-foot-tall Gumby figure.

While some might think that watching poultry peck at feed is slight entertainment, the website set up by part-time farmer Tony Cordray of West Tisbury has drawn a loyal, if small, international following of people who like to see chickens being, well, chickens.

A woman who identified herself as Cazzie from the United Kingdom signed the website's guest book last week, writing: "Now seen the chickens -- made my day! They look very happy!"

a woman some time ago was saved because the webcam in her horse stable enabled people to see her kicked in the head, laying unconscious. So not only did she have a 24-hour webcam on her horses, but people actually watched, which saved her.
