Description:: Comparisons between iPhone and the Wii have already been fairly abundant simply because the two have arguably garnered the top spots in “electronic gadget mindshare” for at least a year each. But looking at the demos today, I think perhaps the iPhone could be on its way to being the Wii of portable devices – literally.

How dumb is that? The portable Wii already exists. It's the Nintendo DS. If anything, the Wii is a portable DS.

Err... I know the Wii is small, but I'd find it hard to carry that and my TV ;) Or am I missing your point?

You might even call it a wee Wii.

    That's right. I went there.

There is an Accelerometer GBA cart for games like Metroid Pinball.

Blood sugar was low... The Wii is a big screen DS in as far as they both innovated input methods and the DS came out 2 years before the Wii.

I'd rather use the DS version because the DS has a stylus. The creature editor will be quite awkward with just a set of sausages.

Multitouch will be better in many ways than a stylus--as has been shown for non-game apps already. Now add tilt and force feedback (the iPhone has it, the Touch does not--I don't know if the DSK supports it).

As with the Wii, the best games for iPhone will be ones designed FOR iPhone.
