    Hi,
I have windows xp running through Parallels and I downloaded Steam and then downloaded hl2 and counterstrike source. But when I try to launch eather CS:S or hl2 neither one works. I get the "Preparing to launch CS:S" window then it goes away and nothing happens. The same thing happens for hl2. My question is, for the people that have played CS:S or hl2 through parallels, are there any tricks to opening it, or any special settings for parallels or anything? Thanks so much for your help :)

I think you need to run it through boot camp & windows I dont think you can emulate this with Parallels.

set your halflife 2 launch options to this:

    "-console -heapsize 512000 -dxlevel 70 -width 1280 -height 800 -novid +cl_drawmonitors 0 +r_shadowrendertotexture 0"

    * it probably won't run well in parellels. Go bootcamp.

I don't think it will run at all in Parallels. If it does, it won't be playable.

Use Bootcamp, or wait until they release the next beta, which Parallels claims with support 3d Acceleration
