CPU Whine on iMac

    I was really scared, it was on for like 15 minutes.



    Now it sounds normal.

    Has this happened to you?

    My 20" is quiet, never had this happen to me.

    What could this be?

    Its happened three times today.

    I thought this was a battery power issue, and my iMac has no battery. :confused:

    Maybe i will try Magic Noise Killer

    It has a power supply though, which i have replaced 3 of them already because of a high pitched whine.

    Sounds like tinnitus to me. See a doctor.

    High pitch whines are common if you have a wife/girlfriend. :cool:

    It is not an ear problem, I put my ear up to my iMac, it's making the sound.

    take it to your apple store or phone apple care.
