FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) - Residents of the neighborhood of Sunset Circle say they have been terrorized by a crazy cat named Lewis. Lewis for his part has been uniquely cited, personally issued a restraining order by the town's animal control officer.
"He looks like Felix the Cat and has six toes on each foot, each with a long claw," Janet Kettman, a neighbor said Monday. "They are formidable weapons."
The neighbors said those weapons, along with catlike stealth, have allowed Lewis to attack at least a half dozen people and ambush the Avon lady as she was getting out of her car.
Some of those who were bitten and scratched ended up seeking treatment at area hospitals.
Animal Control Officer Rachel Solveira placed a restraining order on him. It was the first time such an action was taken against a cat in Fairfield.
In effect, Lewis is under house arrest, forbidden to leave his home.
Solveira also arrested the cat's owner, Ruth Cisero, charging her with failing to comply with the restraining order and reckless endangerment.

Hilarious. Especially the part about the cat refusing to take Prozac. I mean, what self-respecting cat would?

The restraining order was on the cat, not the owner?

That's obviously silly, because the cat wouldn't know there was a restraining order unless it was read to him! Cats are perfectly capable of understanding legal documents, but they can read only Cattish, not English.

Gee, I thought everybody knew that.

pre-emptive? There is the use of the word "terrorist"...

Why did no-one pursue de-clawing as an option? I am pretty ambivalent about the procedure, but in this case it would seem the cat warrants some disarmament.

I thought "Social Issues" was a code word for controversial things like gay rights and the French. Is the cat gay? Or French?

    Maybe he's a Republican?

    That could explain things... ;)

That could also explain things...maybe the cat thought he was W. and was simply using pre-emptive attacks to ward off future threats to his security and well being. :D ;)

You see, you're exactly the type of person Lewis would like to tear to shreds. These are not isolated incidents. Lewis is waging a highly organized offensive against oppressive humans. I sympathize with felines, and I hope he comes after you next.

Yikes! I can not believe that you just sided with Lewis (I guess that even crazed attack cats need supporters). ;) :)

meeeooow. This kitty's certainly got claws.

In the words of GWB - "bring it on." I am strengthening my lower legs with bamboo reeds as I write this. I will be ready.

    Interesting....

So do you suppose George Bush was raised by weasels?

(Now there's a reason for this thread to be in the political forum! :D )

    GREAT story and thread!

Interesting thing is my cat "Fido" kind of does the same thing only indoors.
He'll come up behind people and play like he's attacking their feet.Never scratches or bites though.Makes me wonder if he's been sneaking out at night and running off to some AlKata Terrorist Kamp..:D
