I have a Powerbook G3 266 Mhz Wallstreet. I have Mac OS 9.2.2 installed on it but have since lost the installation CDs that are bootable.

I thought by burning a disk on my OS X desktop computer that contained the System Folder and some applications I needed, that I would be able to produce a bootable OS 9 CD. The goal here is to install Linux on the machine but I want to format the drive and partition it first. Needless to say, this method didn't work.

I've tried multiple ways of burning the data, but none of them have produced a bootable OS 9 CD. I know Toast used to have an option to create a bootable CD, but I can't seem to find it anywhere in Toast Titanium 6.

If anyone knows a way to create a bootable OS 9 CD from my System Folder, please let me know. I'm trying to avoid buying an OS 9 CD off of e-bay.

    Thanks :)

Maybe if you make a disk image and burn that to CD.
