Ugh. It looks like he's trying to be unique.

admired his work for many years, all experimental/cutting edge stuff.
I think 'unique' is the right word to use imo, isnt that the purpose of being a designer?

Wow, showstudio.com looks awful on my 1024x768 screen. Don't you think a "designer of the year" would make sure his web page looks good?

    That is all.

Yuk. I personally thought his work, no offense, was not to my taste at all. In other words, BLAH. Sorry, but I just was not into that.

I'm a great admirer of his work, particularly noodlebox and play create.
His work, along with the likes of John Maeda, has inspired me to try some reactive graphics projects of my own.
I'll probably head down to the Design Museum this weekend and check out the Designer of the Year exhibition and see what the competition was like. Until I do that I dont think I can comment on if he should have won.
