I was only reading yesterday on IMDB that Pierce Brosnan was likely to return.

I'd like to see Clive Owen as Bond, he's got that smoothness about him without being sickeningly smarmy like Brosnan was.

Anyway... they'd better not pick Colin Farrell.

That guy looks like an ugly Liam Neeson.

I thought the sickening, slimy Bond played by Brosnan was just right... but oh well. Whoever they choose, it won't work unless he's pretty.

Talking of pretty boys, did you see who was second favorite? Julian McMahon, I had no idea of the name when I read it, but it's that bloke from Nip/Tuck!

If he could pull off a good english accent (he's an aussie), I think he could do it. 6'3", very able to give the impression of being full of himself :D

I still vote for Jude Law ...before another scream of him being to girly, check out his performance in Love, Honour and Obey where he plays a criminal character that resembles the right b*stard that James Bond should be (according to the books...)

...or Ewan McGregor, of those rumored to be potentials...

    Please no.

Bring back Pierce "Remington Steele" Brosnan. He's my favorite. Although Clive Owen would be awesome. too. I dont think Daniel Craig is "pretty" enough. Or smooth enough.

My #1 preference would be for Pierce Brosnan to return. If not, then my #2 preference would be Clive Owen... I didn't think he'd be good for the role until I saw his performance in Sin City.

"I'll take The Penis Mightier for $200, Alex... you bastard." "I'll take The Rapists for $300, Alex." "I'll take Swords for $100." Classic.

(For those not familiar with this sketch, Darrell Hammond would play Sean Connery on Celebrity Jeopardy on SNL. His main goal appeared to be to torment Alex Trebek, played by Will Farrell. In the above quotes, the actual category names were "The Pen Is Mightier", "Therapists", and "S Words".)

And one of the few skits that didnt go on for about 10 minutes longer than it should.

Oh. and the Burt Reynolds character was gut busting funny as well.

And don't forget Anal Bum Cover (an album cover) :D Or was that Burt Reynolds? (played by Norm, of course)

As for the topic at hand, I'm ready for another Bond movie, it's going to be Casino Royale, correct? Which should hopefully not suck, like the last two. Brosnan makes a decent Bond, and although the best film of his era is definitely Goldeneye, I'd like to see him return for another film.

Die Another Day did suck, just as bad or worse then Moonraker. But The World Is Not Enough was good. I say Brosnan's best.

I totally agree. I don't know what they were thinking when they made the storyboards for Die Another Day!

Pierce was my favorite bond, still watch Goldeneye every now and then too.

Yeah, I think its time they show Bond the way he is meant to be. Lets see him kill in cold blood, just like that memorable scene in Dr. No.

James Bond is not suppose to be a nice guy.

EDIT: Lets also throw an R rating on the film

Brosnan would be awesome, but i recall he was sacked because he wanted too much to do the next one.

Jude Law would be awesome too.

I think the Bond series has lost its 50/60/70's charm and now is an excuse to blow stuff up with cgi. I used to be a huge fan but now i dont even really give a sh*t because its been going down hill.

I vote for Brosnan, or if that doesn't work out, then Clive Owen. I liked the first three Bonds that Brosnan did, but not that last one, it sucked. Tomorrow Never Dies is my favorite of Brosnan's Bond movies.

Definitely. There's nothing like Connery's and Moore's Bonds of old. And yes, CG stuff is becoming way too prevalent in movies nowadays. No substitute for big car, or boat (a la Live & Let Die) :D chases with lots of stuff actually blowing up. Even miniatures look way better than today's CG stuff. The new Star Wars's look like cartoony crap now 'cause they don't use miniatures anymore.
