Did anyone else just hear the imperial march start playing when you read that title? :D Sounds ominous, but in a good way.

Why is this called the Dawn of Dual Core, unless dawn means something different to the rest of the world. AMD have had dual core for a long time now, and even Intel have had them for at least 6 months. A small number of games and a large number of other pieces of software have supported it for a long time, too (although much of the non-gaming software was actually designed for dualprocessor, not dualcore)

Nope. Intel isn't going to go near Intel's NetBurst crap. Conroe is where the PowerMac is going.

I sure wish I could read that article, too bad those ******* intrawindow pop-ups are blocking it. Normally you can close them, but apparently not today on InformationWeek.

Oh well, back to my Igf2 readings.

I like that, because Apple had a 1.25 GHz front side bus in their G5's over a year ago.

    Dawn (morning) has broken.....

Dawn likely refers to the entire industry of chip makers finally
waking up to dual-core technology. IBM & AMD were
indeed the pioneers during the "twilight before the dawn."
