I jsut dled DefaultApps tried associate a few files using certain programmes but seems that the programme is not working. I've tried restarting a few times but still the particular won open using the specified programme.
I want to associate .m3u files to open using VLC but not Itunes. But each time when i dl a .m3u file , double click on it will auto open in Itunes. I've double check my settings in deafultapps. & everything is done correctly.

    TQ.

Hmm... never heard of DefaultApps before, but you shouldn't have to use that to get what you want. You can do this from the Finder. Get Info on one of the files you want to change the association for, and click on Open With. A new section of the dialog will open, showing which application is currently associated with this file type. Pull down the little menu and choose a different application if you want to change it. To make this change apply to all documents of this type click "Change All".
