Hi,

I have several project backups scattered across a lot of drives. A lot of the files are duplicates or older versions of finished work.

Is there any program that will find duplicate names and exactly identical files?

The goal is to create one archive backup of everything at the same drive(s).

All ideas are welcome.

Thank you!

Thank you all!

I googled it before I started the topic but it's hard to know which program to choose without first hand knowledge. Actually I haven't really worked out how I should do the clean-up.

Anyone done anything similar recently? Any tip for a good workflow?

Deleting duplicate files safely??

I have a similar problem, with the added complication of same file content but a different file name. Does anyone know how these duplicate file finding software apps work? Do they look for just the file name and extension, or do they compare name, extension, size, creation date, etc, or do they compare the actual content? Also, I have found many many options anywhere from free to expensive, anyone have any good reviews or comparisons on what is the best?
