Your current memory is not worth $260. OWC have it listed at that price because it is an old part that they have no need to update the price on. You can go on eBay.ca and buy 12GB of ECC DDR3 for $60.
Memory is not like a car, it is a cheap mass produced item that works at full performance or doesn't at all. OWC have not dropped the price on this item because they replaced it with a different module when unbuffered 4GB DIMMs became available at good prices. Just giving you a heads up is all. OWC's pricing has nothing to do with the value of the part now. If you can get some chump to pay all that for it, well fair play to you.
