Would clearing out the printer drivers pre-installed with OS X be likely to cause problems?
Generally not. Of course, you'd want to keep the drivers for the printers you're connected to. But other than that, deleting them can free up a good amount of space on your hard drive. You can pretty much always easily download any drivers you need in the future, and you'll be sure to get the latest versions.
i deleted mine and have had no problems.
short answer is no..
But if your trying to install an Epson printer, you need to delete the drivers before you try into install.. after deleteing the drivers on the hdd then install drivers from the CD...
I've had several people(Customers) @ my work ask me about that .. the info i just gave out is the info i tell them to do ..
