I'm wanting to pull the trigger on the dell e228wfp BUT the 2007wfp is giving me second thoughts. Does anyone have/use either of these monitors?
DVI-HDCP is a nice touch but does the HDCP support include the VGA connection (which is how I would be connecting my 360).. max res on both screens is 1680:1050.
    any helpful input is welcomed

HDCP is not over VGA as it required a digtal signal.

I had my 360 connected to a Dell 2005FPW via VGA and it looks great.

I replaced the 2005FPW with a 2407FPW and over VGA at 1080p it too looks great.

so the e228wfp wouldn't be the best choice for the buck?

MacRumorUser: how did you use 1080p, a digital signal, over VGA, an analog connection??

P.S. I understand the monitor's capable of this, but the connection isn't (if I understand correctly).

The 360 can output 1080p to VGA using the 360's VGA cable.

It's just a resolution after all. 1920x1080 of which the 2407FPW excepts via VGA.

However HDCP which the OP was asking about though is only available via DVI or HDMI.

But the 360 doesnt output either of those so I'm not sure what the issue is ?

The HD-DVD player isn't HDCP protected, and neither is the 360 so there's no reason to worry about HDCP in relation to the 360 & monitors.

One thing I tried to use was a component to vga connection(not the xbox vga cable) but it had a green tint to it....that hurt my heart.

    Bless

Yeah that's the colour setting. It's outputing YPBR but the VGA is RGB. Some projectors and monitors will allow you to change from RGB to YPBR (my Dell projector does) but most dont.
