I was on two phones and the net from 8.59am but didn't get through till eleven when ticketek told me all four days for Sydney were sold out by 10am.

Here's 4 tickets for the first 3 days up on eBay. So far they've reached...

I'm really pissed at this ticket fiasco. They were allowing people to buy up to 10 tickets for each day. Idiots.

Today was the release of tickets to only those people who had signed on with Cricket Australia's Cricket Family.

8500 tickets per day to the SGC were released today to those who had registered before May 26th.

Ticket sales to the general public begin on June 19th.

I for one will be queuing from the wee small hours of the morning for some Day 2 tickets.

I'd signed up 6 months ago. AFAIK all four days to the scg were sold out after an hour. How is queueing at the scg going to get a ticket. What do you know about this or were you refering to the second batch of tickets available from the 19th? If so I think you'll probably want to be queueing the day before.

The "sold out" status applies to the 8500 tickets per day that CA released for those who had signed up. The ground itself still has a good number of tickets that will be available on the 19th to the general public - I will be queuing up at the local Ticketek office on that day to get my tickets.

Ah I see, I didn't know you could go direct to a ticketek office for the general release tickets. That's good. I suppose it will have to be a train from katoomba to penrith for me then.

I think you can, I'm going to queue and my mate's going to be online. That way we cover both bases and hey, if we end up with double the number of tickets we can offload them pretty easily - not on eBay or anything stupid like that, face value to mates who couldn't get tickets (karma's a wonderful thing)

Can I be your mate then? or at least your second best friend. I'll check with ticketek what their policy about sellling is because the first round weren't available in person, but that could have been because the member number was required.

OK I've checked and the general tickets will be available direct at a ticketek office.

I'll be getting them at Penrith. For anyone going there the info is that they are on sale at Myer Penrith, in the lay by department.

The switchboard operator at Myer told me that there is a special ticket queueing door. To get to that door. Walk down High street past Myer, at the end of the building (corner Worth St) turn right and head across the grass, the car park will be on your left. When you hit concrete again you should see a door with a sign on it near the car park.

I think I'd better do a reconaisance mission to get this sorted. Apparently people have been known to sleep in their cars there all night.

Now it transpires that there were only 9800 tickets a day available to the 'cricket family' for the SCG match.

There are about 130,000 people signed up with each one able to buy 10 tickets a day. Even if we allow for only 40,000 looking for tickets there really wasn't much hope.

For the few remaining tickets on sale on the 19th there will be even more people after them.

I hate how the ACB/Ticketek have handled this, it could've been so much easier.

I'd better get some bloody tickets or I'm gonna start smashing heads.

What is even worse is now that eBay has announced they won't stop people selling tickets on their auction site it's odds on that most people who will get a chance to buy tickets on the 19th will be buying lots of 10.

Looks like on the 19th there will be 14,000 tickets available for days 1-4 of the Ashes test at the SCG. And a limit of 4 per transaction. So there's hope yet.
