It's ok, I still consider it the same lappy bday.

As soon as I'm done trasnferring all of my junk, I'll be loading xp with boot camp (mostly for photoshop....and bf2 :D ) If you have any other apps you want me to benchmark for you in the meantime, gimme a holler.

You can get 2.16, 7,200 at Apple stores?

Close to pulling the trigger myself and would appreciate a confirmation on this.

I DID IT!!!! (my stomach feels funny though. ****. But you're right, now that I'm done I'm relieved. So much research has gone into this)

    I think I need a cigarette or a strong drink though. $3500!!!!!

    Here's what I got

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!!!! *insert happy dance*

No benchmarks needed. Who cares about a 5% increase in speed or whatever. I will need help, however, on the basic set up, what to look for, and all that jazz.

I still feel like throwing up though. That's a CRAPLOAD of money on a computer.

Congrats. :) I haven't updated it in ages (meaning no Intel related stuff in there) but maybe it is still of a little help.

Yes, you can get 2.16+7200RPM HD at Apple Stores...it's the "Ultimate" configuration. I picked mine up last week.

On hardware, yes but not on software. Plus, you definitely need to bring your college student ID.

As a heads up, the Apple store claims 24hour shipping, but when I placed my order it isn't shipping until the 12th!!

Mine is definitely a BTO though. I went with the 2.16, 7200 RPM and the 2 gigs RAM. Wonder why its shipping late ...
