In the last few weeks I had a new 1GB RAM stick put into my new 1.67PB (due to MBP unavailability) through the computer store on my university campus in Christchurch, NZ. Just looking at the system profile the standard RAM is PC2-4200 but the 1GB RAM they installed is PC2-3200...

Is this going to affect performance badly at all? I have noticed a few of those "you must restart your computer" screens with the power icon behind but nothing major. I use Final Cut alot, am I going to run into many problems later down the track? Haven't noticed anything too bad apart from a few beachballs.

    Cheers,
    Josh

I would check it with the guys that sold it to you. Demand a refund or the correct RAM if the RAM they sold you is not what they told you it was.

I bought the PB off them too (which was actually the 2nd one i bought from them as the first was stolen), so i assumed they knew what they were doing...? I'll check it out next week.
