Digi Beta vs Beta:Is there a difference?

    At my job my boss was saying that the dubbing station doesnt take Digi Beta only does Beta, since I been working here I never heard of this and wondering he doesnt know what hes talking about or I dont know. But wanted to know whether theres such a great difference between the two types of tapes that requires two machines.

    Sorry just that my boss made me email people for this. Yes make the freelance graphic designer do job responsibilities not on contract.

    well, to start:

    Beta/BetaSP is an analog format.
    DigiBeta - as in the name - is digital.

    Therefore, yes the machines are quite different.
    But, most DigiBeta decks also read (not write) Beta/BetaSP, but not vice versa.

    No wonder I couldnt find it on Wiki I type "Beta Cam"


    Thank you this helped alot just now I think he has a regular beta that he thinks its DigiBeta awell the problem is solved.
