Can someone tell me why there is a new Digital Camera RAW Compatibility update every 42 seconds?

Can I tell my Mac (10.11.6) to disregard all of these updates. Forever.

Weird. Of course, the 10.11.6 update description started out with that RAW update.

I have yet to find a way to tell the App Store to bug off on an update. That was easy to do in Snow Leopard's Software Update.

You can't tell the OS to never show you any of the raw updates, but if this one keeps reappearing, you can manually install it by downloading here https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1882 and then it'll install properly and go away.

It's not that the App Store doesn't install it correctly, it's that there's another update usually within a day or two of the last one. It seems like all but the most professional DSLR photography pros would care about (every single one of) these updates. I do install them to make it go away, but I don't use my Mac for photography so it's more of a nuisance than anything.

You're misremembering how frequent the updates are:
6.17 released October 19, 2015
6.18 released December 14, 2015
6.19 released April 21, 2016
6.20 released June 23, 2016.
They're typically released no more frequently than about every 2 months.
