    Hi Forum,

After I downloaded 10.7.4 and restarted, DiskGenius gave me a warning that I needed to repair the HD. So I opened it up, but it couldn't do the repair. I then tried it in DiskUtility restarting and holding down CMD-R. That couldn't do the repair either. So I tried to restart so I could create a backup and then restore the HD, but I can't get it to boot now—although CMD-R still opens disk utility. Is this something I would be able to fix using the DiskWarrior DVD? I don't have it, but would be willing to purchase if it would fix it.

I have 2010 MacBook Pro. Thanks all.

Can you post the specific error message you received?

Yes please post the error message without that we have nowhere to start.

It could be several things from in Invalid Header, Leaf Node, etc. to a dead drive. If its a simple formatting issue I would just wipe the drive. I always see Drive Genius and Disk Warrior as tools to get the drive "Repaired" enough to recovered but most people use it as a bandage. You can't put a bandaid on a mortar wound and expect it to heal.
