Is the glare that bad? I don't want to my screen to be effected with the anti glare. I want my screen to look and feel normal

Any time I used a screen saver with my iPhone 3GS, I noticed a lot more scratches than if I didn't use one.

If I looked close enough I can see lots of little scratches on the screen (only if the screen was off) but they weren't noticeable unless the screen was turned off and I looked real close.

I don't use one with my 4s

edit: thinking about trying one of these power support screen protectors after reading this thread.

edit: $30 for a screen protector I'll probably mess up during the application process.. nevermind.

Really easy to place on perfectly also you can clean them if you do muck it up using tape to remove and restock on.

I got a replacement 4S from the Genius Bar with those weird factory screen protectors and just cut out around the camera + flash, ear speaker + proximity sensor and the home button and cut off the pull tabs from the bottom on each side. It's working great!!!

I hate those screen protectors... I just love the way the screen feels without anything in between my finger and the screen.

I bought a 6-pack of screen protectors from Amazon for about $3. I don't know why people are spending $15, $20, $30 for a screen protector. I put my phone next to my friend's iPhone 4 that had a power support, and neither of us could tell a difference (I have 20/20 vision BTW)... They are both perfectly clear pieces of plastic.

Is the price pretty standard then

I got a pack of three matte finish ones from amazon for like $6 and was surprised to actually like the way they feel better, it's a dryer, smoother action and it doesn't get as oily or show prints.

I had the matte but it made the display/text fuzzy/unclear. But I did like how it felt.

Got a Power Support as well. Best protectors i've had on the iPhone and i've went through hundreds..

The matte anti glare PS protector to be exact.. Feels great, doesn't really leave fingerprints (easy to wipe off), it looks good too imho, feels better to the eyes.

A friend, who's a girl, installed my front screen protector and it's practically perfectly put on, no bubbles at all nor any peeling edges, i'd say 99% perfect, because you could adjust it by 0.1mm to the left and it would be 100% perfectly close to my eyes.. that's how good it got on hehe..

It's been on the phone for a couple of weeks and well, compared to cheap protectors they would have looked like **** by now and hard to clean off, but not this one!

No screen protector for me. The first scratch is the worst anyways... and it is a gnarly one on my 4s. I don't like the look or feel of screen protectors.

I use AG2 (anti-glare). They were cheap and I decided to buy those, because I was confused with all the different types: Anti-Glare, Matte, Crystal, Glossy, Ultra, Oleo?. etc. Does anyone know the pros and cons of each one that are available?

Yes:

I use the cheapest possible ones you could buy on eBay, and they work really well if you apply them properly. I actually like to wet the adhesive side of the protector before applying. If the protector is not lined up after gently laying it down, just remove it, wet it, and apply it again as many times as you'd like.

No, I hate to add anything that will interfere with the oleophobic coating or the way the device is ventilated.

Really old thread, but yes, I do use a case on all of my expensive devices -- I consider them a worthwhile investment of protection given how much I've spent on the device itself. Interestingly, I've discovered that more people have protected their iPhone 4S' as opposed to the iPhone 5, probably because of how easily the glass shattered on it.

I did at first, then it was annoying so I removed it. Now as of last week I have a long scratch running down the screen near the center. It's very noticeable when using it as it has a rainbow effect. Also my oleophobic coating has pretty much worn off completely. It finger prints and smudges very easily and is difficult to clean. Might be time to use up an AppleCare+ claim.

No, they annoy me to no end when I see a spec of dust or piece of hair trapped underneath. The screen on my 14 month old 4S is still in perfect condition....minus the oleophobic coating.
