I was in an Apple Store a few months ago and heard a customer discussing it with an Apple employee. Anyone know if it exists ?

Not sure about in store, but online discounts are typically around 6% (for Macs etc) - it's much the same as most employer discounts.

Apple seem to have removed their old online link regarding the subject leading me to suggest they've stopped this service?

I don't think iPads, iPhones or iPods are included. If you want a better discount there appears to be a few UK university links floating around the net at the moment, not sure if they work or not, but they do allow you to add discounted stuff into the basket and let you go to the checkout!

Students get 14% off. Find one and get them to buy it with your card for you. Maybe even tempt them with 4% of the price so you get 10% off.

I sell my student membership in this way at my local Apple Store. Cheeky but 4% of a rMBP is a lot..for 10 mins work.

Probably will get in trouble for saying this
