well, they had to test iTunes for Windows on something...

Yes, I do think Apple has some PCs. Probably for secondary storage or backup servers just in case the worst happens: a mac virus is unleashed.

it wouldnt surprise me, maybe like the pixar situation. time equals money and maybe they used pc's when the g4 couldn't step up. but with the g5 out they may be replaced.

i don't know--apple's pride is pretty high. i would expect that they don't use PCs except for things that they actually need PCs for, like benchmarking and developing windows software like iTunes and Quicktime.

maybe they have them...and look at them to show new recruits what not to do.

Maybe they throw them off buildings.

I am sure that they use some for testing and running a few applications that are not available on the Mac.

Of course they do. At the bear minimum how would you test your website for various audiences?

Apple.com is about attracting people from other platforms as much as it is about informing it's own users.

While I would love to have them as a client since i am in that industry the number of accounting systems that suit a company apple's size and also run on a mac are minimal.

    Years of college tuition: $20k+
    Plane ticket to Cupertino: $300
Suit for your job interview: $500

Getting a job at Apple only to find a PC sitting at your desk: PRICELESS!

    i think that's why he said 20k+

the + sign meaning "and up".

I'd be happy if college only cost $5,000 a year.

I know someone who used to work at Apple, and he said they all used Macs. Like the saying goes, "eat your own dogfood".

I'm sure they have some PC's as needed (ex: testing).

Considering that I get Javascript errors on the Apple web site with IE 6, I doubt they do that much compatibility testing. ;)

As long as I can order a Mac, I don't really care though.

We are very lucky here in Ireland because we have a free tuition fees scheme, although the government want to change it back to a paying system.

So you see the joy of going to a private institution (a Methodist university, right? Which one?)

Tuition is under five grand for me each year, and I have EVERYTHING paid for except about half of my room and board if I lived away from home. Since I don't, I get about 2.5k of free money each year.

I go to a private college and the average tuition is around $10-11,000 (it keeps going up every year, so it's nearly $2000 more this year than it was last year).

I'd say hell no, I think they'd have a few locked away to test other software and compare it to the new stuff they are making.

Yes, they have PCs to test iTunes and Quicktime on as well as PCs to test out how well MacOS X plays on Windows networks.
