Does my macbook support 4GB or 8GB?

    I keep finding different answers, does my white macbook late 09 (6.1) model support 4GB or 8GB of ram?

    Current specs are its a 2.26ghz core2duo, 2gb ram, 250gb hdd

    Did you mean 2.26? The 2.16 is a late 2007 model. If you did mean 2.26, it appears that it will support 4Gs (Apple confirmed) but, shown to support up to 8Gs.

    I have a late 08 aluminum macbook and just did the 2x4GB swap and everything is fine. Surely yours will be ok if I can run it on mine.

    I can't say it WILL but, it should. :)

    I've just upgraded mine to 2x4gb and it runs fine. Applications start up faster.
