After selling our g5 and contemplating about selling my 12" powerbook, I'm wondering if the move to intel is right for us. We're definitely happy with our machines and software - like photoshop, office, some dvd backup software, iphoto, itunes, traktordj, etc. The question is that if we move to intel will be much happier.

Will the new machines run our current software much faster or is it going to take getting the upcoming software to really see the improvements? In other words, will we have to dish out more money to really see the speed, or will we see the speed in the current software?

If the fact is that we will have to lay out more money for software, then I will happily stick with what we have until the later revisions of the machines and software are out.

Let me know what you think,
