Using a 6S+ on VZW I was on a phone call and tried to use data and received a message that Cellular data connections are not available during this call. I thought the iPhone allowed for both phone and data at the same time on VZW. Is this not the case?

Thanks.

Make sure you are on LTE and have LTE enabled for data and voice.

I thought on Verizon and sprint you could not do both as they are cdma but AT&T and T mobile being GSM you could.

Any LTE iPhone 6 or later is capable of VOLTE (Voice over LTE)
  • Enable LTE voice on the phone.
  • Make sure advanced calling features are enabled on your Verizon wireless page.
Just know that if you leave an LTE area, the call will drop.

Not every LTE iPhone. Only the iPhone 6 and up.

I think that's the default setting on the 6s. Use LTE for voice and data.

I did a VoLTE to VoLTE call the other day and it sounded really good. Call want long enough for me to say it was better than FaceTime audio, but still it was pretty good.

You'll need to be on LTE so be wary if you see 3G/1x often. You will drop the call moving off LTE with VoLTE enabled.

Its hit and miss for me. I'll drop more calls however its worth it to have data available while on a call. There has been a couple occasions that I've needed to turn it off LTE because my signal was bouncing between LTE and 3g constantly dropping the call I was on.

The setting was just mysteriously turned on for me one day btw. I'm on a corporate account that previously wouldn't allow it.
