Doesnt start up anymore.

I was on my powerbook g4 last night, surfing the internet, when it froze. I had to force quit out of firefox, than i turned the machine off. This morning when i went to start it up again, it wont boot into the os. It goes to the white screen with the apple, and has the loading circle spin for roughly a minute, than it just shuts off. The hard drive stops spinning, and the screen goes black.
What can i do?

Can it boot from the OSX CD? If so, use the bundled version of Disk Utility to repair the drive.

I just came to my parents place for the holidays, thus leaving the osx boot cds at my home.
Is there anywhere online that i could download/make a boot disc from?

Well, see if it'll boot into Safe Mode (press SHIFT at start up) and if that doesn't work, try running fsck through Single User Mode. Both of these options will be easier than trying to create a boot disc.
