im a newbie here and am adjusting to the layout on the macbook keyboard. I find it very nice to type on and got used to the keys really fast.

One thing is im used to reaching over with my pinky to use the up and down arrow keys.

The down arrow feels like it is either smaller or slightly more depressed...when I tilt the computer on an angle I can see it is.

It seems like I will get used to it and is just a design to prevent hitting both at same time?

Is it normal or is my new arrow key defective?

i know it is probably an odd thing to comlain about but if it is a supposed to be like this I find it hard to tap the dwon arrow to scroll, the up is fine but the slight depression makes it go slower.

If you have a Macbook you can turn on two-finger trackpad scrolling and dispense with the arrow keys entirely. The two-finger scrolling works quite well.

The keyboards on Apple laptops usually aren't perfectly uniform. Just about everybody has a key or two (or more) that's a little uneven...I wouldn't worry about it unless it really bothers you, in which case I'd see what Apple has to say about it.
