I have an older iMac that does not have a LAN hookup, and wanted to install X.4.3 and some other recent updates onto it. My plan is to download the updates on a flash USB drive and put it into the iMac. However, I can't seem to find the actual downloadable software from Apple or a thread to help me. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thank you!

I don't mean to be rude...but I feel like I either completely don't understand what you want, or you haven't been looking very hard.

    Look at:

    http://www.apple.com/support/

10.4.3 is right at the bottom -- one click. Here is the direct link:

    http://wsidecar.apple.com/cgi-bin/n...orm=osx&method=sa/MacOSXUpdateCombo10.4.3.dmg

If you look at the *top* of this page, you can select the specific model and find relevant updates....

This is a *combo* updater of 10.4.3 -- it should update any 10.4 installation.

    Heh, I've done worse, I'm sure. :p

In terms of updating... the way I understand things, any core updates -- updates to any system features like airport and bluetooth, security updates, or to core system applications such as Mail or Safari -- that were released before 10.4.3 were rolled into this update. However, any updates to non-core software, like iTunes, would not be, and you would need those downloads separately.

But I think there has only been one important update since 10.4.3, which was an Airport update, and one minor one, which was an update to the Java 5 engine. So if you do this 10.4.3, and maybe get the latest iTunes, you should be pretty happy.

    Good luck! :)
