I would recommend using your phone's bluetooth connection. I had my V600 transferring pictures with the Bluetooth utility built into Tiger within just a couple of minutes. Just set your phone to discoverable and run the utility on your Mac.
If you don't have Bluetooth on your Mac, I'd recommend getting it. While I was initially skeptical, it seems to be catching on.
