and # 12 Northwestern University recommended iMac G4 processor

No, it's probably just a typo.

Maybe they mean iMac or G5, because G5 at the moment refers to Powermac G5.

Maybe it is not. Maybe apple will keep its word and ship imac G5 immeditly. It will be announced on the 31st of August and colleges don't start around the 5th or 6th. So duke students can just overnight or have it ship to Duke and when they get there the imac will be there waiting.
