    Ha, yeah, that's odd, probably just a typo .... but its great that Apple is getting all this press for the anniversary.

    Which makes it all that more important that they top it off by having some sort of announcement.

    At first I thought the date was wrong also. But, if you look at nfl.com or applehistory.com the date of that Superbowl was January 22nd, not the 24th. The Inquirer article clarifies the date by stating "Two days later, the Macintosh went on sale... ". So the opening sentence of "Twenty years ago today" is referring to the broadcast of the commercial. The commercial specified the launch date of the 24th, which is the date many refer to as the birthday of the Macintosh.
