Is there any way to have FCP watch a folder and automatically import anything added to this folder?

I thought that video was typically imported straight from a camera or deck for Final Cut, not from files added to a folder. Is this what you'd like to do?

I sometimes have people give me captured video and i like to organize it into folders on my harddrive. I would like to have FCP import these folders automatically. I know you can go file>import>import folder. but I would prefer to not have to manually import each time I have an update then delet the previous folder.

FCP does not utilize watch folders AFAIK. Maybe a custom apple script could do the job?

Not sure, but could you use Automator for this?
    (Actually, probably not)

Thats def a feature I'm after as well, since the Mac file system has superior file tracking capabilities I don't think it would be hard feature to add.
