Trying to sell my '11 21.5 iMac after upgrading to '15 27" iMac. Looked at prices of completed auctions/BIN's to see what I could expect. Well, those suckers are here, there, and everywhere. Some that didn't sell were priced lower than others that were higher and did. Some were obvious why they didn't sell, but the majority weren't.

Who knew?

It's all about timing. If you're lucky there are motivated buyers looking for what you are selling and you can get a good price. If no one is really motivated, or not in a hurry, then you take a hit. I set the reserve price to something lower than the average, but something that I can accept. If the reserve isn't met I just re-list the item after a few weeks and usually get a price I want.
