I am wondering the same thing, any advice or experience with video converters and game systems(xbox, ps, etc) is appreciated.

The datasheet has answers to your questsions.

With a Mac Mini, you'll be limited to Video CD quality for recordings.

Macintosh computer with a PowerPC® G4 or G5 processor. Recording features require G4 (Video CD setting), dual G4 or G5 (Standard quality setting) or dual G 5 processors (High quality setting)

    With the EyeTV EZ,

Attach your Xbox® or other gaming console to your Mac, letting you play any TV-based game from your Macintosh.

In general, Eye TV products work extremely well; the software is excellent. I use both 200 and 500 boxes and couldn't be happier with them.
