Encrypted External Drive

I have an issue with my encrypted external drive.

When I try to mount it, it doesnt take the password and keeps prompting me for the password.

I know the password is correct because on first try, it acts as if it accepts it.

I have also tried a few terminal commands to mount it and as far as I can tell, it accepts the password but just cant mount/ bring online the drive.

What else can I do to get it to come online or a way to recover my data?
