    OD2

    I didn't know this:

"OD2 does not allow you to buy just one track," Jennings pointed out. "You have to pre-pay a minimum amount before you can listen to any music.

Ouch! As if WMA wasn't bad enough.

In regards to iTMS UK, FR, GA selling 800,000 tracks in one week: The most staggering statistic is the numbers for legal downloads for the first 5.5 months of 2004.

"[T]he British Phonographic Industry (BPI) says that download sales for all industry-backed UK services topped 500,000 in the first five and a half months of 2004."

And iTunes got 450,000 in a week (UK Sales)!? That's outstanding. Hopefully Apple can cater to those who dont' have a credit card (perhaps by gift cards available at any major retailer throughout Europe?)
