EvolutionTV or EyeTV 200?
Does anybody here has an EvolutionTV? I am still undecided between the two options. ConvertX is not an option because I live in Europe. So EvolutionTV, which has mpeg-2-4 and also DivX, or the EyeTV 200, which has MPEG-1-2-4. I've read that the Miglia software isn't that good compared to Elgato's - lots of bugs and freezes. Does anyone has any hands-on experience? Also is the MPEG-4 from the EyeTV compatible with iMovie HD? Miglia states that their EvolutionTV is.
Why ConvertX not Europe-friendly?
I'd be really interested in any answers to this question, so please post your responses instead of email-only. I'm about to order one of these three, but I've been having a hard time getting good comparative information.
"The Man", why is ConvertX not an option for people living in Europe? Is it a power supply issue? Plextor's site says that ConvertX supports the "NTSC/PAL/SECAM" broadcast standards. Doesn't that mean that it can interpret input from PAL/SECAM video outputs via its S-Video, component inputs? ConvertX also uses the same El Gato software as the EyeTV 200.
This is important stuff, since the ConvertX is significantly cheaper than the Miglia EvolutionTV and the El Gato EyeTV 200.
ConvertX can import in all the standards (NTSC/PAL/SECAM), but doesn't have a PAL TV-tuner. Well, I'm undecided if I will actually need the TV-tuner. I only want to import my old tapes. Another question is: Where do I buy the ConvertX for Mac in Europe?
