Think Apple would let me trade in my sport for a regular even if the return period has expired?
 
Why don't you call / chat and ask them?

Otherwise you'll just let even more time pass by :)

Yes they will but you have to explain it that way. I sent my watch back on week 4 and as you know the return window is 14 days only.
I specifically expressed I wanted the SS model and I wanted to return this one.
