I have a (now redundant, since I've switched) PC with two dvd-writers. I have a lot of movies I want to rip with handbrake for viewing on my pmp but I don't want to prematurely wear out the drive in my iMac. Is it possible to use one by placing it in a USB enclosure? Would I need drivers for it?

Thanks

I believe a USB enclosure without any drivers will be fine as long as you use it as a CD/DVD reader. It might get more troublesome if you try to use it as a writer.
